Hello from (surprisingly sunny) Fife

Hi there,
I've been dipping in and out of this forum a lot over recent months as I try to get to grips with my Pentax K-r. I'll be honest people have asked me to recommend dSLRs and I can't actually recommend the one I use myself. But I'm too conceited to admit defeat and blame my lack of photographic prowess on the camera - I will master this camera.
I came to Pentax dSLRs via a Pentax 35mm AF SLR and before that a Fujica AX-3. I was at my most confident with the Fujica but they never carried on and evolved their X-mount cameras and the whole system went into a bit of a cul-de-sac. A bit of a shame because reading this forum a lot of contributors also know that Fuji could knock out some great optics.
I will be a newbie here but hopefully will be able to offer intelligent advice and comments too.
Thanks
John

Actually reading the end of the first paragraph doesn't make sense. What I mean is if I can't master the camera it'll be my fault not the camera's

Welcome to the forum from a surprisingly sunny Highlands, but don't tell everyone.

As most folk think we've still got deep snow and who am I to tell them otherwise when they know it all.

Nice to hear you are having good weather (plus probably death by a million midges). I'll keep quiet about the weather just in case England decides to move up here en masse.
