Soon to be K-30 owner...

Hi,

I'm a refugee from bridge-land (a much loved, recently deceased FZ-35) and looking to step up in picture quality. It's been a month of snooping about, reading reviews and manuals, pixel peeping and generally catching up what's going on in the digital camera market, so much has changed over the years.

The EVF and manual modes were getting used all the time in my FZ-35 so I have no hesitation in taking on a DSLR. I'm a center-focus/meter-'n'-recompose guy. I shoot wide and crop often, and why that's I'm keen on using better lenses and sensor. My subjects range from family snaps, wildlife (distant and close-ups/macro), sports (distant), and noodling about with texture/composition. Yup, very varied, and why the bridge worked out so well... but I'm not seeing current bridge or MFT models that are a step (or go far enough) in the right direction. The K-30 seems like a perfect fit for my level and budget with some used lenses.

I'm looking forward to getting some pictures in I can be proud of!

Dave
