Hello! Another from Australia =P

Hi! Just to add the list of Aussies coming on board haha. I'm from Melbourne, long time stalker but finally decided to sign up...I dunno why I didn't earlier! Got my first Pentax (K-r) about 2 years ago now and have loved shooting and learning photography with it ever since. Loving the old school Pentax lenses and even hooked myself up with a MX, gotta love that viewfinder!

Welcome to the forum, I think the Aussie folk here out number all the other nations put together.

At this rate we 're gonna need a Google translator for Aussie.

haha, translator for Aussie...

Yeah I just noticed the abundance of Aussies here, it's weird considering Pentax is not exactly well represented in stores over here these days. Well at least not that I know of haha.

Ha! That's rich coming from a Scotsman. They had a Scottish commentator (ex-player?) out here for the recent British Lions rugby tour. I had not the slightest idea what he was saying .

thanks for the welcome guys! And thanks for checking out my pics! I try to find some interesting shots and angles when I can, sometimes it works, sometimes not haha but it's been a lot of fun . I must say that shooting with a prime lens certainly brings out/forces some more creative thinking :P

Here's a fact you may not be aware of, the iPhone has a built in voice recognition system called Siri.

Very broad Scots when spoken by folk from Glasgow, Siri appears to have great problems understanding them.

That is until they chance the language setting to English (Australian), when all becomes well, go figure...

Perhaps we're not so different after all.

Well, we both like a drink (our amber stuff has bubbles in it, your's is still and a little more concentrated).

I suspect we also both like to beat the Poms at sport! Unfortunately, not likely to happen this northern summer

Siri must have an Aussie drawl programmed into it, allowing longer vowel sounds to be recognised.

BTW, last month I was sitting in Fenway Park in Boston watching the Red Sox play baseball (yes, I was a fair way from home), and got chatting with some lads behind me after suggesting that, like me, "they were not from around these parts". Turned out they were from Glasgow and were coaching soccer in the US.
