Hello out there,

I've been reading the forum for a while, mostly in the film forum (using two Pentax S1) but now that I upgraded the old digital (and that means stone age - we are talking 6+ years old technology, an *ist DS) I thought I'd hand in my introduction.

Being somewhat advanced in age, and hopefully wisdom, I have been into making photographs for about 15 years. The first impulse was Mary Ellen Mark and her indian circus photographs in the early 90's. It took a few years from that first impulse until I got to the stage of actually realising I could make photographs too.

Photographically I have been doing everything from LF, medium format and small format - and now I am getting on to a test period of trying out digital in a more serious way, not only product photos for auctions and ads, but actually printing stuff, making a digital dent in the real world. Being stuck in a creative rut, complete with a buying/selling frenzy - I need to get back to work.

Looking forward to few posts here and there, mainly in the K-500 and the film forums.

Heh, valves ... Well, it sort of belongs in the steampunk category.

If it wasn't for the *ist DS malfunctioning, I would still be using it. The flash is working whenever it feels like (it was broken when I got it used in 2007, had it serviced and well, it's conked out again) and Av and Tv going nuts (wants to use f/27 or 30 second exposures - and when I am at that point, I can't get it to move back from there).
