Brief introduction...

Hi, I'm new to the forum and new to DSLR. I've owned a SLR for 35+ years, but haven't used it in ages. I finally bit the bullet and got into the DSLR world with a Pentax k-30. I'm in my 60s, a retired computer programmer, and live in MA. FWIW my real name is Steve Ellis, but Catscradle is the id I use on everything I join online where it isn't already used. This I do in honor of Kurt Vonnegut and his book of the same name. Being retired I mostly pass my time jogging, hiking, reading, playing pool, and just starting photography. My hiking has gone to the devil in the last year or so, but now that I've got the excuse of a camera to use I hope it'll jump start me. Any old guys in the Northeast looking for a climbing partner for the NH 48 4000 footers? Well that's my boring story, hope you enjoyed it.

Hi Steve, thanks for the intro. Welcome back into a great hobby. Hopefully the K-30 will drag you up some more 4000 footers

Welcome, Steve. You can hike some more and take the K30 with you. I recently went for a tramp along a state park trail with mine. Enjoy!
