I am new to DSLR photocopy and looking for some prime lens to go with my K5 (newbie to dslr) Any suggestion?

Welcome to the club! The K-5 is a great camera.

As for primes, what kind of photography are you interested in? Landscape, portraits, indoors, sports, wildlife...? And what's your budget?

A good and cheap allround lens would be the DA35/2.4, or an old (but excellent) manual lens like an M or A50/1.7.

Welcome to PF and bonjour from France ... enjoy the K-5 and the DA 35/2.4 is a great lens for the price ... it and the DA 50/1.8 are on sale ... I have an A 50/1.7 and the M50/1.7, both great lens ... please post us an image or two soon ... J

There are so many primes that can be had for Pentax, it can get pretty mind boggling.

If you can, get yourself a good one like a Limited series. Your K5 deserves it. But the others mentioned here, which can go from under hundred to just under 200 dollars, are going to give you awesome pictures as well!
