Originally posted by yang79 I plan to buy K5, please tell me is it good choice for some one who is not to advanced in photography but is willing to learn a lot? Mayby it is safer to choose cheaper K200/K20?
I would take the K5 over the K20. The K5 has a much better sensor. The body of the K20 is slightly larger, and the controls are very good. I would think that the K5 is good for folks learning.
The K200 was the last of the CCD sensors. A wonderful camera that folks still swear by today. It lacks the two control wheels (it only has a single wheel in the back) that the K5 and K20 has, but its the same type of sensor Pentax uses in the 645D.
Personally, I would go with the K5 especially since it is being heavily discounted since it has been discontinued and can still be had for new. You can also get the 2 year extended Pentax warranty for $20 (for a total of 3 years, which is a real deal).
