Out of SLR hibernation...

So after many years of point and shoot digital photography, the yearning for an SLR (which came from decades with a Canon AE-1) has finally won out, and a new K30 is in the mail. I was surprised that my research of which camera system to go with didn't point me to Canon or Nikon, but Pentax. The package of features fit just right and the sense that Pentax was more serious about photography than marketing glitz sold me. Glad to be with you!

Welcome aboard! Do download the pdf version of the manual so you have something to read while you wait. And the K-30 is an excellent camera! Enjoy!

I have two k-5s, but I seriously wish I'd bought a K-30 instead of the second one. Enjoy....

Thanks for all the welcomes! No camera yet, but am getting (slowly!) through the manual. It appears Pentax attention to detail includes their owners manuals!
