Hello....I am no photographer at all....just starting to like very much the art and particularly like to compare the semi-pro cameras without knowing anything. I want to learn and will soon buy a K 5 IIs which is my choice among similar cameras. I stick very much to little details like size, manufacturing compounds and weather proof advantages.

I have perhaps a silly question if somebody could help me:.........the name PENTAX is "stamped" on most of the the K 5 II and K5 IIs shown on the web..........Is it possible to find the name engraved (not stamped) in the K5 IIs ?.....(seem´s the K 50 has it like that) and it sure rockets high the appearance and image of the brand

Welcome to the forum, I actually tape over the brand name for less distractions and reflections, so it's never bothered me engraved or otherwise.

Welcome to the forums! The K-5IIs is an excellent choice, so good luck with that! I wouldn't know anything about the logo, but then I'm not too worried about such things...

As to being a photographer or not, I'd say that's a matter of definition. Maybe "hobby photographer" could be a fitting label for those of us not making money from what we do?

I'm not sure about the K-5II series, but the K5 PENTAX name is engraved. The K5 badge is printed, though.
