K-30. Love it already!

Hello from Rollinsford NH, USA. Retired recently (computer and electronics technician). Decided to get into photography. Researched extensively and decided to go with K-30. Didn't want to be a Cannon or Nikon lemming. Have always taken the road less traveled, marched to a different drummer. (Don't even like to construct grammatically correct sentences.) After much experimentation (and reading) I'm starting to see the difficulty of getting a correct exposure and the fantastic photos I get when a correct exposure is gotten. Lots to learn. See Ya...

Welcome!

Hello NorthBob, Welcome to the Forum!
Good choice with the K-30, it's a very capable camera. Exposure is something we all must keep learning and evaluating;, just when I think I've got a handle on it, nature throws me a curve. But the meter can get you close and bracketing is a good safety net. If there's time, I'd rather take 3 bracketed exposures than only one that has to be 'saved' through post processing. My advice is to take lots of photos, look at good photography- I mean, really study it- and learn from mistakes. Lots of folks here will help if you have questions or want advice.
