Yes, a K-3/K-5 would be a great travel camera compared to a D1X. But then maybe a NEX-6 or GX7 would be even better if travel is the only purpose?
It is rather unfortunate. And thank you for your understanding.

I MUCH prefer the K-3 to any mirrorless or semi-compact camera. I still want a DSLR, and I have always seen Pentax in higher regard to that of Canon or Nikon.

Otis can have some of the gazillion acrons and hicory nits (and a few walnuts) on my property, but he would need to fight my squirrel army first.
Otis loves that idea, and although he is a "lead from a tree branch" kind of General, he can see the potential of Pay-Per-View on cable with two squirrel armies battling it out.......he was telling me all about it and the only thing I could see were the $$ signs in his little beady eyes!
You know, it's not a half bad idea, I'd pay to see a couple of squirrel armies go at it!

Regards!

Tasty too, but we can't talk about that here!

Best Regards!

Well the K3 looks even better than we anticipated, it should be a lot of fun in the field. Consider the GPS for astrotracking, too, if you can get somewhere dark.

I have nothing unique to add, but I wanted to say, hi Bolt. Hope you get the K-3 and love it.

Just read through this thread. Not quite sure what to think. Part of me thinks Bolt is a troll, part of me thinks he may just be an overzealous teenager with an overinflated ego and too much cash. In any case, welcome Bolt. I sincerely hope you find joy in photography rather than just a way to try to impress your peers with status symbols. Enjoy your toys.
