Hello, from a former Olympian!

Hello, all!
Growing up, my favorite uncle was a news photographer. Although his enthusiasm for the craft made an indelible impression on me, I never was serious about taking pictures until recent years. After languishing in Olympus' Four-Thirds (and micro four-thirds) ecosystem for way too long, it was decision time: Do I go with their new OMD EM1, or jump ship to APS-C? While weighing the pros and cons of Canon vs Nikon, I came across a most impressive alternative, Pentax. Long story short, my K-5 II is due to arrive today and I couldn't be more excited!

I've loved my ist DL, my K7 and more recently my K5ii. My K7 is unfortunately dead in the water and can't go without my K5ii but I'm now looking to see if I can modify my ist DL for infrared to give it a second lease on life

Welcome and congratulations on a fine choice. You won't be disappointed with APS-C and Pentax.
