Hi from Nebraska

Hi all. I have been a true shutter bug throughout the years. Strictly amateur and like it that way. No expectations and it keeps things light and fun that way. Obviously I’ve no objections to improving my knowledge though which is how I came across this site. Finally broke into the DSLR family with a Pentax K30 (kits lenses 18-55wr & 18-135wr) a months ago and have been having a blast. Family’s always gone Canon, but I really liked the weather resistance & low temp capabilities for the price of the K30 for this part of the country. Still learning about the capabilities of this camera and have been extremely impressed with Pentax...and now excited with the new lenses being released like the 55-300wr.

Welcome!

Hello Harm Solo, Welcome to the Forum!
I'm from the neighborhood (1 state away) and know about the cold winters, my Pentax gear has performed admirably in some terrible conditions, without a single glitch. Wish I could say the same for the human element!
That's a very nice candid portrait, good lighting and framing. Post more!
Ron

Thanks for the welcome guys. And Ron, I appreciate the info and heads up. I haven't had this baby in a winter yet, but I fear I don't have too much longer to wait and find out myself. Haha
