Aloha from Australia.

Hey guys

I've been using this forum for reference for some time, but have only just decided to join the fray after finally having enough scratch to get a decent DSLR plus some glass. After much internal debate I decided that Pentax was my only option, sturdy construction, a plethora of old and new school lenses to play with and weather sealing all made my decision a little easier.

I have wanted a K5 since I first held one, if only for a moment, the main reason is that I have rheumatoid arthritis and feel that the ergonomics, paired with the myriad of other features will be an extremely apt camera for me. Whilst I would love to get a K3 I believe it will be too much camera for me, plus my theory is that I can get a nice used K5 plus some amazing glass for around the same price, my budget will be about $1200AUD.

I love landscapes, architectural and macro photography, much more of the latter to be honest. I was thinking about getting a limited prime lens, either the 40mm or 35mm limited macro and another lens or two. I'm not entirely sure what other lenses I should try to get, but any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cheers in advance guys

As you are into macro, I would add a 100mm macro for those occasions where getting close is not an option and the 35 would be too short.

welcome to the Forums. Another option would be the Tamron 90 macro. I love to have either the Tameron90 or Pentax 100 macros.

Welcome mate. It doesn't matter which lens you buyfirst as there will be many more to follow. It's a little affliction we here at PF like to call LBA.

Regards
