Greetings from a follower turned member

Hello dear Pentaxians!

After following this forum for some time now, learning a great deal of new things and seeing so many superb pictures (a sincere thank you to All of You for that) I decided to register in hope that I could also contribute somehow.

As introduction I would like to share with you how I became a Pentaxian: until couple of years ago I never even heard of the brand (booo! whoooo! shame!...) but it is not too suprising in Central-Eastern Europe where film cameras were mostly Zenit or Practica with the odd Olympus or maybe Minolta. So after I got everything possible and more out of my first digital camera (a Fuji bridge) I almost accidentally got an old Canon DSLR for use aaand: let there be light! it was love at first sight but not with Canon, but with the DSLR class. I wanted my own of course and started hunting for one. After only gathering inspiration from videos and reviews I strut in the small, sidelined consumer electronics aisle of a hypermarket and asked: "Could you please give me a Pentax?". The clerk didn't even know at first what that was :P but I became the proud owner of a shiny new K-x.

So this time my love locked onto a brand, a camera system and I think you folks of most people know why . That little camera has been through a whole lot with me and was my most trusty workmate for the last few years and is a reliable backup now that The K-30 does the bulk of the job.

I am now hoping to catch a nice K-3 in the bag but until then looking forward to some useful and amusing reading and discussion here.

Happy shutterflapping everyone!
