New K3 owner and first Pentax

Hello all. I recently sold my Canon 6D and 24-105 L lens to try something different. I bought the K3 because the images on the reviews of the K5, K5 II and the S model all looked really good to me. Having had the K3 for a couple of weeks, I am glad I made the switch. The color and exposure control are two things that are standout pluses on this camera. I am just plain having fun taking photos again. I do miss full frame light sensitivity and the Pentax glass that I have does not have the edge to edge sharpness I am used to. I will be building up my lens collection and reading the forum here to learn the way of the Pentaxians!

Welcome to the forum, Pentax has always had a different philosophy in lenses than other companies. Centres are very sharp, edges sometimes suffer. But, if you know what you want, people here will tell you where to find it. We love helping people spend money.

Welcome aboard! Glad to hear you're loving the K-3. Try to get some of the lenses recommended on the last page of our K-3 review and I think you'll fall in love with the camera all over again
