Have a k20d, never learned how to use it, but, trying to learn now -- on the verge of buying a Sigma 35 1.4 -- going to try and sell some stock photos - have some experience with product photography from a long time ago. I have been debating staying with Pentax -- guess I will -- will never have enough money for a true pro camera, besides, Pentax/Richo have to come out with a FF -- ??. I am a laborer to old to labor much longer -- gotta try.

Welcome! The K20D is a very capable camera, and the Sigma 35mm is excellent. When I think of product photography, I automatically think of the DA 35mm Limited f2.8 macro.

DA 35 was my first instint also -- DxO gives the Sigma substantially better numbers --- as far as utilizing sensor resolution -- over 60%. I think that will allow the K20 to compete with newer cameras for a longer period of time. I think if I ever make it, I will go with the 100mm macro

Two aperture stops is a big difference, which does make the K20D more comparable with the new bodies.
