Hello from new comer

hello all, just say hello here as new registered, have a Pentax body K5, K-01, for lens I have a DA*16-50 for landscape, and one DA55-300 for long zoom, I like hiking and photo shooting, last time in the area Everest I had those two camera with me and that was quite tough for carrying around 5000M altitude, still searching the lite possibilities for equipement.

am now interested in the new K-3 and some new lens to enable the special need, will learn here from all of you

Hello wnbin, welcome to the forum!
If you're looking for a lighter and more portable setup, you might consider one body and the DA 18-135mm AL WR 'superzoom' . While it won't provide the reach of the 55-300mm tele zoom, it does go from wide angle to short tele, in a single lens.
I checked the weights of the lenses you now own (add your camera body weights to these for a total);
DA 16-50- 565 gr
DA 55-300mm- 440 gr
Total- 1065 gr
The DA 18-135mm weighs 405 gr.
Body weights;
K-5- 660 gr
K-3 800gr
K01- 660 gr (w/battery + SD card)
So, the DA 18-135mm plus either the K01 or K-5 would be 1065 grams, exactly the same as the two lenses (without body) you're now carrying.
Just an idea for you!
Good luck,
