New and Near Philadelphia

Hello All,

Just became one of the many who jumped on the black friday / cyber monday deal on the K5 II. I have been borrowing the more basic K100 D and to date have been enjoying the new rig! There is quite a bit to learn, but I think at this point in my education it's time to start with more hands on lessons.

Photography for me is about documentation and as such I'll be bringing the new gear to family events, taking portraits as well as landscape/city shots when I travel or get bored.

(Also posting to get my post count up so I can prove to the higher ups that I'm not a spam-bot )

Welcome to the Forums. That is a pretty good jump from a 100D to a 5II

Welcome! The K5ii should give you lots of room for growth. The bad part is not having the opportunity to blame the camera

welcome to the forum, I miss my K100D. ALthough I have to say, going back and looking at the images I took with it, it's not a K-5 series camera in IQ.

I'm certainly looking forward to learning/testing the new features and such. While I can certainly borrow lenses, I'm also looking forward to gradually growing the line-up. First one was a splurge and is waiting to ship. Now, I'm looking to lower the average price paid per lens as there are some really great bang for the buck ones out there!

Still learning a lot, especially with two other lenses (Macros) I picked up. For a beginner like myself, downloading a pdf copy of the manual on my phone proved to be very useful.

Here's a few photos I took with the camera.
