The 645D is currently available for $6999 from retailers like B&H and Adorama:
Pentax 645D Medium Format DSLR Camera Body 17971
Pentax 645D Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) 17971 B&H Photo Video

We have a couple of reviews of it on the homepage. Keep in mind that this is a big, slow camera for shooting stuff when you've got plenty of time. If you're looking for a more versatile camera you like want a more traditional DSLR like the K-3 instead, or a FF DSLR.

Thanks Adam.

Yes, I am interested in 645d for the slow and deliberate work.
i have an M9 for the discrete and quick stuff.

I have looked at BH but I am hoping I can find a lightly used body and save some money.

Thanks.

Then I'd recommend that you add '645d' to your marketplace watch list at the top of this page:
The Pentax Marketplace | Sell Pentax | Photographic Equipment for Sale - PentaxForums.com

You'll get an e-mail when one of our members lists one for sale. You can also post a wanted ad here:
Wanted Items - PentaxForums.com

Many of our members ended up paying full price for the 645D, so I doubt they'd let it go for much less than the new low retail price, though...

Welcome to the forum, a side question for you, how you getting on with the M9? as I'm thinking about maybe adding one just for my street work.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
I got a used M9 a few months ago and I really enjoy it. Prior to that I used a D700 and D800 with Leica-R and Zeiss lenses.
I feel M9 is small enough that I carry it with me a lot more. Colors are beautiful and Leica lenses render/draw in a way that I find very pleasing.
They are also quite small/light, which you might find attractive if you want them for street work if you want to be discrete.

Be warned though, Leica is like cocaine. It can become an addiction and quite an expensive one
On the positive side lenses hold their value, if bought pre-owned, so unlike cocaine the money can be recouped.

Cheers!

I owned back in the day, a couple of M5's and a handful of lenses, which I loved for my street work, small lightweight etc etc, but I just wondered how the M9 feels in comparison in everyday use.

I have no experience with M5 or prior film Leicas so I can compare them.
But I am quite happy with the M9.
