Not new to Pentax, but new to DSLRs

I've been using Pentax cameras since I was a kid, but I just bit the bullet and purchased my first DSLR (a K-X for a screaming deal). Ready to jump right into digital (though I still get confounded by autofocus on an SLR...feels wrong after using old 35mm film SLRs).

Welcome! Like you, I made the jump to digital after everyone else. I trust you'll have some old glass to manual focus with to your hearts content.

Welcome!
Enjoy your K-x. I'm new to DSLR myself, my first led to another first (Pentax not Nikon) and of course, I can't get enough of film...I don't remember having this much fun with it back when! Enjoy!

Gidday and welcome
I know what you mean by AF, when I auditioned my K100D in the camera shop,
I nearly dropped it from surprise when it focussed.
The old spotmatic didn't do that

Pentax is my first and only jump when I went to DSLR because at the time Pentax was the only ones that used SD cards when everyone else used expensive CF memory cards. And learned that old K mount lenses work on them got me into buying my first DSLR for $300 it was Pentax K110D

Welcome aboard, remember legacy Pentax glass works with modern DSLR's with varying levels of compatibility.

Yeah, I'm going into my attic later today to try and find my old 35mm prime lens.

Look at some of those old, dog-eared lenses Kerrowdon uses. Hardly a motor-driven one in the bunch and he's still able to focus on the beauty and the beasts. Might inspire your tour of DSLR-land.
