New Astrophotographer with a Pentax

Hello, my name is Alexandre Dumas, and I am Canadian from Quebec. I started to do astrophotography with a Pentax K5 IIs since one month after trying the k-30 of my friends. I am an amateur astronomer for many years but as regards the Pentax I still have much to learn that is why I appear here. Here are some pictures of my first test.

Dude! Cool!

Astrophotography is fun, but this winter is too cold right now.

Hey, welcome! Great shots, especially the second one! Do you know about the O-GPS for Pentax cameras? Helps with star tracking. Hope to see some more photos from you

Welcome to the forums. Your comet shot is brilliant, looking forward to more spectacular images from you.
Cheers.
edit: question, what equatorial mount do you use?

Welcome to the forum, knowing nothing about this sort of thing, that certainly looks like a boss bit of kit.

Salut, Alexandre! Pentax DSLRs make great astrophoto cameras since the Sony sensors they use have very low digital noise. You can get away without doing dark frames entirely if you keep your exposures fairly short. There are a few star photo freaks on the forums. Looking forward to seeing your contributions.

Yes, the observatory is the first in log that I know that exist (after long google search) . Winter is hard here. This installation made this hobby less extrem at -32 degree celcius. I search best methode for connect the K-5 IIs on 110 v power voltage. I've take 70 pictures at -32, my previous DSLR canon can not do more than 30 shot at the same temp. Sky is cristal clear in winter, long night, minimal CMOS sensor thermal noise (My goal is run exposure of 5 min. by shot).
