Hello Everyone!

Hello All,

I used to shoot film as a hobby around 10 years ago with my first SLR, a Pentax ME. I then upgraded to my first DSLR which was a Nikon D50. Due to my personal situation and lack of time i sold the D50 and got out of Photography several years ago. I recently have been bit by the bug and purchased a K-30 with the 18-55mm kit lens. I was able to dig through storage and recover a 50mm prime from the old ME. I do have to say i was shocked at the image quality i was able to pull from the old lens. I look forward to brushing up on everything and seeing what the k-30 is able to produce.

Correction, the Pentax film camera was a MG, not a ME.

Welcome! I hope you're enjoying the K30!

Saw plenty of Pentax ME Super's when I had my SuperA ... The MG was nearly 10 years later in 1981.

My Pentax S3 was 1960ish ... Still works beautifully :-)

Welcome to the forum, that's one of the joys of Pentax ownership, the backwards lens compatibility, together with the fact there's so much inexpensive good older glass out there.

Welcome aboard!
A lot of the old lenses had some great glass - even the f/2 kit lenses produce great color and clarity on my K5.

Now you're going to spend hours trolling craigslist for old Pentax glass....
