K1000 se

Hi, everyone. Someone just gave me a K1000 SE in excellent condition. The serial number is 6056332. I was wondering when it was manufactured. Can anyone out there help me out? It came with the Pentax-M 1:2 50mm lens and it works just great. I was looking for a basic SLR to keep me honest and one of my business associates here in San Jose, California heard me talking and a few days later he just gave me his Dad's camera. Still can't believe I got it for free. I mean it looks brand new.

Welcome to this Forum. If you look under the Camera section, or use the search function, you will find a great deal of information on the K1000.

According to what I have seen, the K1000SE's were manufactured in the eighties I believe. I could be wrong. Have fun with that camera. I just bought a K1000SE about a month ago. I haven't used it a whole lot yet because it has been too cold here lately and i'm a big pansy. Haha. When warm weather rolls around, I plan on using it a lot more.

Thanks for your reply. I look forward to giving that camera a workout.

Oops, I think I meant to say the nineties. Great, I'm quoting my own post. Isn't that the internet equivalent of talking to yourself?
