Hi from down under

Hi guys,

Thought I would introduce myself as I haven't posted on here before.
I am an enthusiastic photographer who absolutely loves birding and landscapes.
I live in Perth Western Australia and have been looking at your forum for a while.
I love the reviews you post as well as the user reviews.

Just bought a K-3 in November and am absolutely loving it

Best Regards
Peter Caddy

Welcome, enjoy that K-3, there's one or two other Aussies about the place, so you shouldn't feel to lonely here.

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the forum!
Nice to meet another "bird man"!
I love birding too, specifically the Raptors and Owls!
My entire half an acre garden in Johannesburg is devoted to attracting birds, insects and bugs.
In December 2012 I passed the 50 mark in species of indigenous trees, 53 to be exact!

My 17 year old son google earthed our home the other day, and we could not find
It; only to realize that our roof tiles are black, the pool is one of those natural black ones and the rest of the garden is literally Forrest........in the middle of Joburg!

Anyway, I have had four species of Owl alone over the 20 years we have been here and on any given day I can easily count 15 spiecies of bird.

So how' the birding in Ozz?

Oh and I like photography too!

Thanks for the welcome Asama. The birding here is pretty good. I like raptors too especially the Osprey. I haven't managed to get any Owls yet. I also like the small colourful birds like the Robins, Fairy-wrens and Bee-eaters. I live in the suburbs so have to travel a little to certain spots for birding. It must be nice to have them all in your backyard
