Greetings from Ukraine!)

Hi Pentaxians!
My name is Anton and I live in Kiev, Ukraine.
Just sold my Canon 5d Mark III and going to buy Pentax K-3 (Yep, a bit silly choice i guess)). Was happy with my gear, but after 7 years with Canon wanted to try something new. After experience with Fuji X series and Sigma DP Merrill I figured that there are great manufacturers besides Canonikon.
I shoot weddings mostly.

My everyday camera is Fujifilm x100s and I really love small devices with fantastic quality Hope K-3 will not dissapoint me)

P.S. A huge thanks for tons of sample images, reviews and all useful info I found on pentaxforums.com!
P.P.S. Sorry for my english)))

Welcome Anton,

Thank you for introducing yourself. I think that you will enjoy the K-3 and Pentax lenses. It is a very good system.

Please feel welcome to start a thread if you have any questions on anything Pentax, or to post some images!

Here in Ottawa, I am testing the cold-weather capability of my K-5 II at minus 20 degrees C. No problems.

Thanks for warm welcome)) Right now I can`t decide what lens to choose for my "most-case-scenarios") On 5dmk3 my everyday lens was sigma 35mm 1.4, but with 1.5 crop factor on k-3 I can`t really pick best lens in 20-30mm range (35-45mm on full frame)

camera systems

Hello, I am from western Canada. I bought a K1000 years ago from an insurance settlement that had fallen in a lake. Performed flawlessly. Then I bought a used Super Program that only had about 50 rolls of film through it. Owner wanted a new Canon with more features. I have picked up other film bodies mainly for the lenses.
taxacomua---One thing about the Pentax cameras is that almost all the bayonet mount 35mm SLR lenses will mount and work. You may loose features but if it is a focal length you need you can get by with it.

Hi Anton, and welcome to the forum!

I also shoot with a K3 (and some other cameras too), and I don't think you'll be disappointed - it's a fantastic camera. Of course, it's only as good as the glass you put on it Since you're switching from a full-frame Canon to APS-C on the K3, the 24-70mm classic wedding focal-length range is covered by 16-45mm (approximately) on the K3. I use a Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 for this range, and it's excellent, but there are plenty of other options too.

Oh, your English seems great to me!

I don't have the K-3, my daughter also shoot weddings and other events and has borrowed my K-50 along with some off my lenses. Her favorite are the DA*16-50 and DA*55, both have produce some outstanding photos!
