New to DSLR and New to Pentax

After much (obsessive) research, I chose Pentax for my new hobby (obsession). First-the weatherproofing.....I like the idea of a not-so-fragile camera. Second-the lens choice. Third the Price and the quality.

I've lurked so much and learned so many things from the comments and the posted photographs, I felt obligated to donate and introduce myself.

The K-50....so far I'm very pleased with it and any issues, I am sure, are operator error at this stage

I am also new to Pentax, I was previously using Panasonic Lumix GF-2 with Canon FDs.

Bought a 2nd hand Pentax K30 and Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 over the Christmas. I am so surprised that the image quality of the old vintage Pentax lenses were so well built.

Still don't understand why Canon is so popular.
