Hello from Pittsburgh!

Went from point and shoot to canon dslrs over the past 10 years. While I like my trusty 40D, I have been reading such great things about the K5 over the last 3 years. Finally got one off eBay today, should have it in my hands by Friday. Can't wait! I'll be on here getting as much info as I can.

Awesome camera, I have one myself... but I'm sure you got a much better deal!

I grew up near the airport, great town. Welcome.

Welcome. I sold my 40D once I got my K5 as well.

It's been awhile but I do like Pittsburgh and ya I'm a Steelers fan.

The 40D is a very robust and solidly built camera. Has faster shutter speed using flash. Might be good to keep both.

I moved from a 20D, which I gave to my daughter as a birthday present a couple years ago and she is now using in a photojournalism class. I was tempted to convert it to an infrared camera. Is anyone still doing that, and would the 40D work that way? Could be a niche camera for you.

And . . . Pittsburgh is my hometown so please wave hello for me!

I've seen converted 40d's. But I think I'm just going to sell the canon gear so I can purchase some pentax gear. Pgh says hello!

Hello from Pittsburgh!

Sounds good Jacoby. Me and my brother-in-law look for places to shoot on Sunday mornings. But I'm up for shooting anyday. I'm in Baldwin area but work downtown.
