New K 50 owner

Hi Pentaxians:

I'm absolutely new with photography. To be exact, the K 50 is the first camera I've ever owned (I did not even own a point and shoot camera). I spoiled myself a little bit when I bought it as a graduation gift to myself.

My first low light photo shoot with K 50 + Pentax SMC 50mm f/1.8 was at a classic cars showroom. I was not so confident therefore I did not take many pictures because it was pretty dark. However, the result made me felt guilty because I did not trust my K 50 and the 50mm f/1.8 in low light performance.

Please check out some of my pictures to see what I mean. I give full credit for the camera and the lens for the image quality. These picture were straight out of the camera. I only scaled them down to post them to my flickr account.

Welcome to the Forums. Those are very nice images for someone starting out - enough for me to give you your first "like". The K50 is a great camera. I am thinking of upgrading to it myself.

I went to the Air Force museum in Dayton with my Sigma 30/1.4. It is almost pitch dark in there. Really poor lighting. I shot mostly at f2, and the results were amazing. So yeah, our little 16MP sensors almost have night vision!

Thank you!

Thank you very much for your comments. They encourage me a lot. I really appreciate it.

To Joel B: I guess you may have recognized the orange Porsche. A guy at the showroom told me that it is the 911 Carrera GT 2005, the same model of the one Paul Walker was in on Nov 30.

Welcome to the forum, you should be happy enough with those images I would have thought as they're good.

P.S. a silver Ferrari is just wrong.
