Back in the saddle

I'm a new Pentaxian and an old photographer. I started back in the day when ASA 64 was lightning fast and keep shooting until cataract surgery cost me the ability to focus. I thought I was through until I discovered that I could manage an EVF camera. I spent a few years with Super Zooms and discovered just last year I could finally afford a DSLR if I didn't mind an older model. I thought it would be a Sony A200 or even an A100 but while researching I discovered the K-x and KEH. I chose the K-x because it uses AA batteries and my experience with rechargables is that they die or aren't charged just when you want to take a picture. I got the K-x and a 50-200 mm lens and couldn't be happier! Now I'm looking for a second body and maybe a really long lens. I know TMI but I never thought I be able to use an SLR again.

Welcome to Pentax Forums and thanks for sharing your wonderful introduction!

It is great to hear that you are 'back in the saddle' and again enjoying a (d)SLR. KEH is highly regarded, so you have found a terrific source for affordable equipment that's in superb condition.

Hope to see some of your pictures.

Welcome. Just a thought to help you pick you 2nd body. You may already be aware of this and perhaps your K-x has it but one of my favorite features of my K-01 is the focus peaking. Makes using those manual lens a bit easier. I know there are other models out there that have it as well. If your camera doesn't have it you might look for it in a 2nd body to see if it's helpful.

Welcome! ASA 64 - how many DIN was that again? I'm glad to hear that you're able to use a SLR again, I think you made a good choice with the excellent little K-x.
