Hi to all,
I have been lurking for a while but decided to join to take full advantage of the info available. My first real camera was a Pentax ME that I worked all summer for in a shoe store in 1978 as a teen. Shot many rolls of film thru it but gradually over the years drifted away from photography. Some years later my father-in-law gave me a Pentax K-1000 set he had but it was too complicated for him (the Hong Kong variety). I did not use it at all. I kept it with my ME.

All the pictures taken in between over the years were point and shoot digitals or turn the camera in to be developed type.

Last year, I got a crazy idea to pull the old ME out and shoot a roll of film thru. Not pretty. Lots of crud on most of the pictures. I retired the ME and put the body on display.

I also shot a roll through the K-1000 and was very surprised with the results. So I went to ebay and looked at some prices to get a feel for the used market. I purchased a KM (film) and I love the camera! It takes great photos. My K-1000 has developed a problem with some foam partially showing in the viewfinder.

This past Christmas, I purchased a used K10D but at the moment I'm still learning how to use it.

Welcome and thanks for the intro! There are a lot of K10D shooters around still. It was a top of the line camera when it first came out, and it still is a great camera even if the newer models handle high ISO values better.
