Hello from France

After having read through this forum for a couple of months, I thought it was now time to register and to contribute.

I use a K5 since some 3 years now, after a Lumix LX3 and several P&S cameras. I have no hope nor ambition to become a "real" photographer but once in a while I try to do just a little more than the "holiday and family gathering" pics.

With a couple of friends, I am planning to send a weather balloon in the stratosphere, with an emphasis on the quality of the pictures to be taken from there. A sturdy Pentax would be great for this !

Regards to all,

Andre

Wow, I know my K-5 is sturdy (and I know the K10D has been sent up in a weather balloon already), but no way I would send it into space! Well, not unless I should stumble upon a K-3 first. But I do wish you good luck with your project! Sounds really interesting.

Anyway, welcome to the forums! Please do share some stratospheric pictures if your project succeeds

I think someone did the balloon trick with a K10D some years back. A search might turn up the photos. In any case, post yours so we can see them. Sounds like fun.

I know the K10 balloon trip was documented on Flickr, and probably elsewhere. It looked like a fun trip!

Welcome!
