Canada with a K-30

Hi all,
I am mostly new to DSLR photography but I really like it and I am always searching for new techniques or subjects. I carry around my K-30 to events when I can and my backup is my Canon S100 for sports and when i travel light. (If the S100 was weather proof it would be ideal, she is having a hard time with humidity, rain, cold...) I have tried a couple of types of photography: night on a frozen lake, winter infrared, crazy carpet action, group picture, rainy city night, nature landscapes, etc. I have 3 lens right now: the 18-55 kit lens, the 50-200 WR and the 50mm f1.8, i am looking for a next one wide angle. Maybe a used 28mm if i can understand witch mount i need... I'm llookinf forward the discussons on the forum!

Greetings and welcome.
For your K-30, you need the K mount.
If you are looking for a used manual 28mm, try to find Pentax branded lenses. Some of the non-Pentax branded manual lenses will not mount to the modern digital cameras due to some "excess architecture" in the mounting area. For instance, in 28mm, I have a CPC and a Bell & Howell that do work, and a Ricoh that doesn't. All of the Pentax branded manual lenses I have come across work on the digital cameras.

That's why Pentax makes weatherproof compacts

I have yet to find a compact that does not sacrifices quality for toughness. Around the same price point i mean. If you find one let me know. I really love my S100... coming from a Canon A530. But I am always stressed when I use it in the cold rain at the hunting season. Than it's back in the hot and humid coat. No problem with the Pentax... it doesn't fit any pockets!

Took a couple of night picture with the 50mm f1.8 in the rain and no problem except the drops in the lens. Was a dumb move, my other 2 lens are WR!
