Hi from Michigan!

Hi Pentaxians,

Here's my first post. I have been reading many of your posts and learning about cameras.
I really hope to learn a lot more.

I have never used a SLR (including DSLR) before, but I definitely want to start.
I have decided on Pentax for many reasons; one of the most important being the weather resistance. I also like the low light capabilities.

I am on a budget so I have not pulled the trigger yet, I want to get it right the first time.

Look forward to learning more about the awesome Pentax cameras and figuring out the right camera and lenses to buy.

Sincerely,

Brian

Welcome aboard!

Don't forget the used market, the Marketplace here is a great resource for someone getting started or looking to expand. You can get K30s or K5series cameras for a great price now.

Thank you

Hey and Bonjour!

I appreciate the encouragement.

I hope to have a DSLR selected soon so I can post photos.
However, it is easy to be intimidated by the incredible shots that I have seen posted here by some amazing photographers.

Regards,

Brian

So, whereabouts in Michigan are you?

Remember to check on Craigslist - people sell their old equipment (or relatives' equipment) all the time. sometimes it's vastly overpriced but sometimes you can get some interesting old gear.
