Greetings from South Korea and Texas

I just bought my 1st DSLR, a Pentax (K5IIs) with 2 Lens (18-55MM) (50-200).

I am an old American guy that has a home near Fort Worth Texas area, but as I work as I South Korea, as I spent most of my time there.

From 1967 till 1973 I made my living as a professional photography, but I made a career change and followed my dream to be a professional pilot. Now that I am to old to fly and can only teach in simulators, I have become very interested in taking up photography again.

Things have changed a lot in photography is an understatement. I am very happy to find this group and I look forward to learning a lot of new tricks. Looks like I no longer need to carry around a Grey Card and a hand held Spot meter the size of my new camera to get the right exposure.

I welcome all contacts and useful information anyone can offer, and I will answer all messages as time allows.

Sincerely
737george

Welcome to the forum, probably not as much as you think, grey cards and spot meters still have their place.

Hi Again, 40 years ago, when I did it for a living, I worked for a large portrait studio company, most of my work was indoor family portrait type work, some school, university, and other commercial work as needed.

My interest are landscape, Korea countryside is beautiful, I am hoping this spring and summer to find the time to travel to the mountains and try out my new camera.

I enjoy studio work with great lighting, backgrounds, props working with models etc. However no chance for me to do that type of work in Korea.

Hello France

Thank you for the greeting, I love France, I lived in France for about 4 years (89-93) so beautiful, I was working In the Middle East at the time and made my home base France.

I miss the beauty of the countryside and the food, in fact I had always hoped to retire in France, but things did not work out.

Am sad I was not into photography when I was there. I have so many beautiful images burned in to my mind, wish they were on a SD card, as I would enjoy going back in time.

Sincerely
737george

Hi Jean,

I lived in Paris, Carpentras, Aix le Bains, spent lot of time in Cannes - Nice area. Had a Peugeot 205 Diesel and drove all over the country. Lots of wonderful memories. Thanks for asking..

Sincerely
