I've been a longtime Nikon user (film era) with a large set of Nikon lenses. D700, D90. However, I've grown somewhat bored with the look I get from my Nikons and have been playing with older Pentax glass. I've been impressed. Now seriously looking at a used K5.

Welcome - I came from Nikon film originally quite a long while back. Enjoy your stay.. it's scrappy, gorgeous, history-filled and varied world with Pentax. Doubt I'll return to Nikon-land.

Also, for what it's worth, I'd go for the K5ii, rather than the K5. The slight extra cost gives you a world of improvements to that model.

Welcome to the forum, ex Nikon F3 guy here, must admit that D4 is a cracking piece of kit, but don't say I said so around here.

I had an F3, F4s, D40, D90, D300 and lots of glass. Got tired of Nikon with the D600 thing and their refusal to make a high end DX camera. The D7100 is a great camera but the buffer is shallow. Their other DX cameras are nice but they seem to lack something to me. So goodbye Nikon. I switched to Pentax and don't regret it. Pentax is more bang for your buck .
