New Asahi Pentax enthousiast

Hi everyone,

Just registered here. I'm originally an Olympus guy, using an OM-2n, 35LC, 35SP and XA.

However after buying a black Pentax KX with 105mm f2.8 (K) lens at a secondhand street market one year ago, I got sold on the (heavy) quality of both the KX as on the K lenses. The focussing on the lens is super smooth and very precize. I'm not sure if the picture quality of the Pentax lenses is very different from Zuiko lenses, but the built quality is pretty much better. I never heard of the KX before I encountered the one that I bought and I consider myself lucky because I love it. It's all mechanical, all the info you need in the viewfinder, works on batteries that are still available and when they're finished no worries at all... Got the 55mm f1.8 lens soon after and WOW another great lens!

Still using analog equipment but I do use a M43 camera for filming. Having used that digital camera with different old glass, I can assure that Pentax K lenses are focussing the smoothest of them all. I'll be posting some reviews on the Pentax lenses that I used so far (50mm 1.4, 50mm 1.7, 55mm 1.8, 28mm 2.8, 105mm 2.8).

Oh and my newest old camera is a Pentax PC35AF, Pentax first AF compact camera (1981).

Thanks! Two days ago I helped someone to create some space on her attic by buying a full bag of Pentax stuff. So now I also have the 135mm 3.5 K lens, together with a KM camera. Nice to have a second body and it's super easy to control the KM. Below are some pictures I shot today, it's Agfa 200 asa film with an expiring date of august 2008. Done with 135mm 3.5, 28mm 2.0, 50mm 1.4 and 135mm 3.5 again, all at f8.0 or f11.
