Newbee with k-50

Hi,
I bought a Pentax k-50 kit when I decided to take a photography class in San DIego. It is a manual class, no "auto" stuff.
I have had a few classes and am really enjoying myself.
I have been able to find most of the accessories I need from amazon.com. I decided
to try my hand at macro photography. I just bought a 50mm lens. But I have been told that I need to get
some extension tubes. I have found several online but I want the electrical kind since I am still a rookie AND
because I want to see that exif data on my photos.
I have seen some extensions online but honestly I don't know what I'm looking at. I saw a k42m, what's that. Can
anybody point me to info about extensio tubes for a k-50?

Before investing in screw mount lens or extension tube, I suggest you chat with Pentax customer service on how to use M42s on a K-50.

Macro alternatives

There are certainly lots of macro lens possibilities. I use Pentax 50mm 2.8 macro, and Tamron 70-300 macro. The Tamron particularly is inexpensive to buy, particularly used.

Welcome aboard!

I use an FA100 2.8 macro for insects etc. If you go to the accessories or lens sub-forums you'll find some info on extension tubes.
