Old with new?

I have a K1000 SE from like 30 years ago and just bought a K10D body only. the lenses seem to fit fine but I can not take any pictures, the shutter will not work. Is there a lens adapter I am suppose to be using with the new camera? I have the original lens that came with the K1000 and a Tamron zoom AF 28-80mm F/3,5-5.6.
the new camera powers up but I will not function at all, is it the camera or my old lenses?

Welcome to the forum, is anything showing on the displays to give a clue to what it's doing or not doing.

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to seeing your images. Older Pentax lenses require a menu change to allow use of the aperture ring and exposure modes. If you don't have a K10D manual you can get one here.

If your lenses are K mount you don't need an adapter. If you used these lens on your K1000 SE, they don't need an adapter. That camera is the same mount type as your lenses.
