Hi There from AUSTRALIA!

Hi, I'm Ken. I am a big Pentax fan. I have owned a Super ME (inherited from my grandfather) for 10 years and only now have made the transition to Digital SLR photography.
I recently purchased a MZ-50 and Z-10 (both with 28-80mm Sigmas) and enjoyed having fun with those. I soon after purchased a second hand K-r and am LOVING it!
Every time I googled lenses old and new Pentax Forums came up. I have found the forum to be a very useful resource in research and advice.

So here I am.

My gear:
k-r
Pentax SMC 18-55
SMC Pentax M 50mm f2
Sigma 28-80mm Macro (Silver)
Albinar 75-200mm (Crap really)
Soligor 28mm f2.8
Five Star 35-75mm (ok but useless compared to my other lenses)

Oh and I just purchased an Auto 110 for fun. I read so much about them and wanted one!

G'day and welcome from Western Qld. Do you have a favourite lens out of that bunch yet? I personally love either walking around with a prime 50 mm or 28 mm which I see you have. Enjoy the learning you'll do here!

Thanks for the kind words everyone
Brisboy, my favourite for now is the 28-80 Sigma, it's versatile and fast. For some reason the 18-55 has a really long delay when saving multiple pics. I do like the 50mm. Even at 30+ years old it still takes beautiful pics and the 50mm is a nice focal length (even with the APS-C).

Make sure you have Hightlight/Distortion Correction off, those settings slows down the camera considerably in Pentax bodies before K-30, and they only works on DA lenses that's why you don't get that delay with your Sigma lens.

Welcome to the forum by the way

Welcome, hope you also inherited your Grandfathers lenses too, as they are still good to go with digital Pentax's, just one of the many joys of Pentax ownership.

Thanks elpolodiablo (devil chicken?)

Highlight correction was off, distortion correction was off but "lat chromatic An Adj" was on. I turned it off and now the lens has almost no delay! I took 10 pics at high speed and the review showed up in about 2 secs! (It would take about 10 secs before)

So I think I need to do some manual reading...

For the Aussies I'm in Canberra. Not as exciting as the big cities for interesting people etc but we do have a nice landscape and some interesting new architecture.
