Hello from BC, Canada

Hello all. I have recently re-discovered my love of photography and so I thought I'd join up here to learn and develop my technique. I've got a little K-r with the kit 18-55, DAL 35 2.4, M 50 1.7 and a Tamron 70-300. My grandfather was an avid Pentaxian and got me interested years ago; now that I've got a family of my own (and a little extra cash...) I am building my gear collection and trying to take pictures of whatever I can, wherever I can. Cheers!

Welcome from your neighbor to the south. I always Pentax shop when I'm in B.C., we don't have any retailers down here in the land of Canikon. I'll look forward to seeing your photos and would be happy to meet up next time I'm that way.

Sounds great! Where do you shop for gear? I find that London Drugs has a decent prices (sometimes) with their limited selection, but it would be great to know of some smaller, specialized shops...

There's a place on Broadway...Broadway Camera? Or am I mixed up? It's nearish MEC.

Welcome! I'm in Tsawwassen.

For camera gear, try Broadway Camera. Also The Camera Store in Calgary are excellent for pricing and deliver within 2-3 days. And if you're Downtown, go to Gastown Photo in Waterfront Centre close to the food court.

London Drugs is pretty good, and I believe they will price match . . . possibly even after the fact.

You know...the right thing to say here would be "aw shucks", but I was just dealing with a troll in a different forum that I'm a long time member of and was thinking the same about the gentle and supportive nature of PentaxForums. It's a very nice instance of a great on-line community. Thanks to Adam and that others for providing such a great resource to us all.
