Hi y'all!

I've been watching this forum for a week and it's awesome I'm a recent Pentax convert, having shot Canon for the last several years. An amateur, just now moving into the enthusiast stage. . .

I just bought a K-5 iis, with an 18-250 and 50 1.8 on order. Also bought the 35mm since it was the only prime the camera shop had in stock but think I'll swap it out for the new Sigma 30mm to put more range between it and the 50mm.

I ditched my last Canon after I bought the Olympus EM5 and EP5, the latter which fits in my purse and is great for street shooting. My husband and I have managed to collect a bunch of Oly lenses between us, mostly because I love them all and can't choose between them. Really amazing system, but I missed the dslr feel so I starting scouting for one. Didn't want another Canon, went to a Nikon demo but it didn't quite suit, so I started researching and fell in love with the K-5 iis IQ, build, features, menu, etc.

Can't wait to chat with everyone and learn more!

Welcome, you made a good choice!

We've just published a reveiw of the Sigma 30mm . It is a pretty awesome lens if you can live with the unreliable autofocus.

Thanks, Ole. I'll check it out. Not sure I can live with the AF issues, though. Why get a lens with AF if it doesn't work properly?

Welcome here, enjoy that K5 IIs and that's you now safely on the the slippery slope to poverty, with both LBA and CBA moving in with you there.
