Somebody told me Pentax sucks... I know better.

I learned on a K1000 back in High School. Shot for the yearbook and the newspaper... I loved that camera and I almost got away with it, when I graduated, but they came over to my house and took it away from my clutching, screaming hands...

I'm generally a Nikon & Mamiya shooter, but someone gave me a Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5, and I'm back in the Pentax Camp. Found an SF10 on the bay for all of $12 shipping all in... and I just am in awe by the stellar performer this rig has become. So I have to go digital and I score an istDL on the bay for $100 w/ all of 5k actuations. Slap that tak-135 on the ist and whoooooaaaaaa. This rig is Hot, Man! The istDL gives me Av, something my Nikons won't do w/ my Ai-S Lenses. I just keep remembering back to that K1000 in High School and think to myself.

I'M SO GLAD I'M BACK! Pentax RULZ. Just never change Pentax, never change.

Thanks Mms & Mssrs

Wai.

Welcome to the forum, I had to use my Google translator (USA to Scots) a couple of times there on that post.

Welcome back. The Takumar Bayonet 135/2.5 is a good little lens if you know its limitations. I have one but it has been 'resting' since the aperture blades got sticky. On another forum some years back there was a general bagging of the 135/2.5 with some claiming that it was really only a 2.8. So I tested mine against the FA 135/2.8 and it really was half a stop faster. That can be useful.
