Howdy!

Switched over from Canon when Pentax released the ZX-5 in the late 90s. When it died, I gave up photography for a spell and did not follow the market as everything went digital. Finally decided to exit my cave when the K-5 was the latest and greatest. Had a passel lenses to work with from the film days. I added a K-5IIs last fall because I always liked the idea of two cameras ready to go. Just stumbled upon this site a couple of days ago. Imaging is not the major hobby for my free time like it was back late 70s-early 80s, but I think I still like picture-taking. Hope to get a better understanding of these critters from more learned folk here.

Hi there and welcome!

I guess you'll find plenty of interesting content here as there are lots of members and most topics covered.
Do you always carry around both bodies when you 'exit your cave'?

Cheers,
kpl

Thanks, kpl and patrick9!

kpl,

I've carried two bodies fitted with lenses (one wide, one telephoto) since my Canon days in a Tamrac double camera bag. Back then it was an EF and T70. First Pentaxes were ZX-5s. I have switched, now, to a Tamrac backpack style bag and keep the extra body unattached in there since my old 100-200 zoom is quite long. The newer zooms which cover that focal range appear to be a shorter package, so, if I pick one up I'll rearrange things to keep 'em both loaded. My wife carries a K-r in her bag, and yesterday she got a Tamron 18-200 which relieves her of three of the old lenses to keep track of.
