Hello from Ontario

Hi there! My name is Jon and I'm from Ontario, Canada.

I got into Pentax through using my dad's Spotmatic. Ended up with a k-x, but that died while upgrading the firmware so now I have a k-5.
Eventually I got a Q too. Hopefully that'll be the end of it for a while, but I doubt it.

I'll post some of my photos when I get the chance because it's easier than writing!

Welcome to the forum, one has to ask... is this a new "upgrade strategy" when dealing and justifying to nearest and dearest, that I'm not familiar with.

I was so upset when the upgrade screen froze. I only had the k-x for about 3 years, but luckily I was able to take it across to the west coast of Canada, the Philippines, and a bit of Europe. Pentax Canada said they would give me a replacement camera (wouldn't say which), but they'd have to keep my k-x. I'm a sentimental guy so I kept the k-x body. Anyway, I was reluctant to get another Pentax since it could become a paperweight from a simple firmware upgrade. I thought 'I'm finally free!'. Alas, a camera shop was selling used k-5 with 18-135 kits for $750 say I had to jump on it. So the point is, Pentax made me do it!
