Working for a newspaper often presents the opportunity to photograph house fires. In this case a couple of training fires. Got access inside the house for a couple of shots. I've used Pentax cameras for years (Since 35 mm days) and never had a problem with temperature or moisture. These were taken with a 6MP ist DL Pentax. Even though I use a K5 II now, I still have the old ist DL and it has survived the following: Dropped from moving car several times. Used to cover flooding, tropical storms, snow, fires, festivals and the list goes on. Including a gas main explosion training event. Got to be within 25 feet of a controlled gas main explosion. The camera and the rims of my glasses were hot to the touch after a few shots.
