Hi from Melbourne

Hi All,

I'm an amateur photographer but every aspect of photography cheers me up from buying new gear, selling an old gear, shooting telephoto, portrait, kids,...
I've got a k200D that I'm about to upgrade. I'm waiting for Pentax to release something similar to Fujifilm XT1 as I really like the style.

Lenses; I've got a beautiful manual 50mm 1.2, (which constantly creates art), a 10-17 fish eye , a DA* 60-250 (a long telephoto is in my wish list), a manual 35mm 2.8 and another 50mm 2.0 and sigma kit lens 17-50 (I think)

I'm happy that Pentaxians have a profound forum like this and thank you for letting me join

Cheers,
Samwise

So many people from Melbourne! Why do I never see anyone walking around with a Pentax camera though? Welcome.

Last time I was there, I was walking around with Nikon gear. Sorry.

Do any of you Melbournites work for the Crown Casino?

I saw three at the Zoo a few weeks back.

And no, not in the Endangered Species enclosure!

Great website to answer problems, have a chat and be inspired. We are a great mob unless we talk about FF cameras.

I've been doing my bit walking around with cameras.

Another Melbourner here.

Usually not in the city though, generally I'm roaming around hidden little alleys and factories taking photos.

I can recall seeing 2 Pentax bodies out in the whilst whilst in the CBD

A red KX attached to a young Japanese Tourist. I waved, she thought I was a creep

And a yellow K-01 with a 31mm hanging off the front down near the VCA.

It is a little embracing that I remember these useless details...

Welcome! :P

honestly this really worries me,

sometime when I go to camera store they barely have any Pentax gear. This is not good. As photographers we sometime spend / invest quite a lot in our gear and the fact that Pentax being this much unpopular is not good. Just see Fujifilm, a name almost new in camera world, getting so much attention or sony or panasonic.

In contrary Pentax is one of the oldest and best quality manufactureres doesn't stand out as it should. please correct me if I'm wrong
