Do you have 44M-7 also?
Not yet ... but, it's on the "shopping list".

Have a "44" (in M42, 8 blade), a "few" more 44-2, more 44M & 44M-4, plus two 44M-6 MC ... Looking very hard for a decently priced "44" in 13 blades and M39.

Why so much ... because most of it came quite cheap via my thrift store

My 44M-7 MC just arrived today and I will pickup it tommorow I sold my 44M-2 Helioses and I'm going to sell 44M-4 too. I'm just going to keep the ultimate one because I'm trying to deal with this ugly LBA disease

May I suggest that it's good enough that you don't need the overlap of the DA20-40? The DA20-40/2.8-4 is a bit of a pricey lens, and it can't even hold a constant aperture of f/2.8. I'd suggest the FA*24/2 is much more useful, has nicer IQ, and is less money too. Alternately, I think the FA20/2.8, DA21/3.2, or DA15/4 would be a better use of the money if the FA*24 doesn't suit you - at least for most people. But the FA*24/2 is the one I use the most by far - that combination of the nice 24mm Focal Length and the very good performance at f/2.2 really makes it more useful and flexible than a slower zoom here - it's the widest fast lens I own.
Thank for advice! I do agree that 20-40 is pricey for its characteristics. With 28-75 I will be able to say how I miss 20-30 range... If not that much - maybe I could resist. More likely I'll find another excuse to buy it simply for the way it looks ))
