new to pentax hello

Hello I am 18 (going on 19) years old I live in the US, but was born in Peru and visit frequently (I will take my camera)

I have been browsing the forum since I decided that I wanted to get a pentax dslr.
I recently got a "used" (it was never opened so new) pentax k50 body for around $419. Instead of opting for the standard 18-50 zoom I bought a da 35mm f2.4 and a super-takumar 55mm f1.8 both for about 200.

prior to my k50 I owned a fuji hs 25 exr

I like to shoot at night after or during rain when you get the nice wavy reflexions on the street, and I like shooting nature quite a bit. I would like to save up for an FA 100mm f2.8 to shoot some macros (I am an entomology student).

I hope you can help me get better at photography
thank you
-Nicolas

I think that starting with primes is a great idea. Welcome to the forums!

That was a smart move. Welcome!

Thanks, on my older superzoom I found that I was only using it at about 20mm (after equivalency) or at around 50-60mm so I figured I didn't need anything else.

Welcome! Down the track you will probably want a weather-resistant lens or two for those rainy shots you love.
Enjoy the journey
