Hi from Queensland

Better introduce myself. My name is Kevin and I've been a Pentax or at least a Pentax K mount user for many years. Back into the 1980's I guess. These days about all I do with my Pentax K-x is astrophotography and photographing my two cats, a Ragdoll named Orion and a Tonkinese named Rigel. Oh and microscope photography. And storms, not that we've had many sparky ones of late. They've been the windy cyclone kind.

G'day Kevin good to have you on board and always good to have a fellow Queenslander on the PF.
We are starting to get outnumbered by the Vic's and SA Pentaxians.

Thanks all.

Well I'm not sure Sover. I've never seen polar lights, north or south. Though having seen many pics, I'd say a nice wide lens would be the go. No more than 50mm and probably a lot wider. Exposures up to 30 seconds I would guess.

Welcome to the forums Kevin. You may be the only person in the world with that particular eclectic combination of photographic interests!

Welcome, what kind of microscope photography are you doing? Sounds interesting, especially to me, because I was doing a lot of microscoping at work some years ago.

Thanks Kerrowdown and Dieterson.

I got an Omax trinocular biological microscope, just a cheap Chinese model but I have an interest in bacteria and other cells. Not that I know much about them, but it's fascinating to watch them at "play". I have some videos on youtube. They are a mix of cats, microscope and Ham radio stuff.
